To apply for a medical window tint exemption in Maryland, you'll need:
- Form MSP ASED 23-04B (Physician's Written Certification for Window Tint), completed and signed by a licensed medical professional
- Vehicle information including year, make, model, and VIN
The Medical Certification must be completed by one of the following:
- Physician licensed to practice medicine in Maryland
- Optometrist licensed in Maryland
If applying through a telehealth service like TintedMD, you can get your evaluation done completely online. You'll receive:
- A signed medical certification (Form MSP ASED 23-04B) delivered via email within 24-48 hours, ready for submission
- Submit your completed form at Automotive Safety Enforcement Division, 6601 Ritchie Highway NE, Room 121, Glen Burnie, MD 21062
If you need an exemption for an additional vehicle:
- A separate certification form is required for each vehicle
Note: Unlike some states, Maryland does not require pre-approval before tinting. Once you have your physician's certification, you can have your windows tinted and must carry the certification in your vehicle at all times.
